Log!! It’s better than bad… It’s GOOD…

First, you’re the man/woman if you can guess where the title is from!

Second, this is another picture from the same day I took this and this. As usual, I did several variations of this picture. I do this because I hope that it creates a little dicussion with people that come to visit my blog. My favorite is usually the image that I choose for the featured image. With this specific image, I’m a little torn. Within the slider, you’ll see the full color version on the right and a saturated version on the left. I’ve saturated the entire image except the log. I actually really like it, but I think I like the full color version better. I do like both B&W’s, but I like the vintage one a little better. Your thoughts?

Chris Nitz Log, by Blamo! Now I’m humming the log song…thank you very much! Love the photo and how the ice has all those little dirt bits in it. Great shot!

Scott Ackerman I’m partial to the full color shot, and it’s a great one! Nice work bud.

Jason Hines Nice job Chris. The processing on all three is great!. I definitely like the color the best. It feels the coldest.

Toad Hollow Photography Today, I’m stumped dude! I moved the slider back and forth, like, 1,000 times and still can’t make up my mind! I think I have to say I love ’em all today and leave it at that so I can carry on with some semblance of sanity… I said semblance, please don’t assume I am actually sane or anything… LOL

Chris DeAngelis I’m liking the saturated color one, but the contrast and texture in the ice on the B&W came out pretty awesome…

Erin Duke I think I actually prefer the saturated photo. But as everyone else has said, they’re all great! What a great thing that you have a picture that looks good no matter what processing you use. :)

Rob Hanson Tough call, but great shot either way. For the top version, I’d say go with full color (right side.) That said, if you took the B&W version (#3), lightening it up a bit and cropping down the image while constraining so that the log is on the lower-right 1/3 intersection, I think that would be killer (as long as the watermark was moved a bit.) Just my $0.17643 – adjusted for inflation.

Chris @Chris Nitz – Thanks man! Sorry about the song, but you know you love it!
@Toad Hollow Photography – Thanks, Toad! You’re sane… but that assumes I’m sane… 😉
@Rob Hanson – I’m on it! Thanks for the advice and I’ll let you know when I’m done!
@Everyone – Thanks everyone!
