Looking up

Just a quick post today. Here is another image from Helena, Montana’s Capital building. If you walk to the center of the building and look up, you will be looking at the dome of the capital building. That’s what I did here. Only problem was taking this shot. The legislative session just started and because of that, the Capital Building is very busy. So, it was kind of embarrassing laying on the floor to capture this image. Looking back, and after slightly cropping this image, I probably could have gotten away with raising the tripod just a touch… oh well, I like the results, so it was worth it. Let me know what you think!

Note: As is going to be the case in all future posts, I’ve included the before image as well. Please use the slider to change from before to after and let me know if you run into any problems.

Chris Wray Wonderful photo! Mighty steady hand and concentration with legislators buzzing about you. The framing is spot on. Did you have to adjust for any barreling?

Chris @Jesse Pafundi – Thanks, Jesse. I’m trying to tone down my processing on architecture such as this.
@Chris Wray – Thanks a ton, Chris. No, I didn’t have to adjust for barreling on this image. Just rotated and cropped.

Chris @Heath O’Fee – Thanks, Heath! It was now, but then, I wasn’t so sure! 😛 Good thing I don’t really care what other think all that much! 😀

James Howe Love this shot, great symmetry. I actually like both the before and after images, although the before could still use just a bit more contrast.

Chris @James Howe – Thanks, James. I really like how this shot is framed. I think that I could have used some of my everyday tools to bring out some contrast rather than use HDR processing, but oh well. Turned out nice either way.
