The Bridge

This is another angle of the same bridge that I posted yesterday. I liked this shot so much that I tried several variations of it. I think, until my B&W satiation has been sated, I will probably post both a color and B&W version on my blog. Today, I’m going a little further and posting a textured version. I’m totally digging all three versions of this shot.  Let me know what you guys think!

Note: As is going to be the case in all future posts, I’ve included the before image as well. Please use the slider to change from before to after and let me know if you run into any problems.

Jim Denham I am once again drawn to the B&W Chris. My eyes are starting to appreciate them more, especially in winter shots with overcast skies. Great shot!

Toad Hollow Photography Wow, now here’s a tough choice! I like them all, but if I HAD to choose one it would be the textured one. I love the painted canvas feel it has, I think it suits the image perfectly. But like I said, I love ’em all!

Abby Elliott Normally I don’t like textured images, but that is just too cool! Definitely the textured one! Great shot!

Dave Wilson My vote goes with the black and white version too. I always was a sucker for monochrome and this strikes me as a shape-dominated picture that does well without the colour.

Jesse Pafundi I have to say, I like them all for different reasons. My favorite is the b&w version though because it just has a surreal feeling to it. Great work Chris!

Jim Nix That’s a sweet shot and I like the textured version best too! Jim

Chris Wray The canvas texture is sweet, Chris! I really like the monochrome version, too. Nicely balanced tones. Excellent framing!

Viveca Koh Decisions, decisions! Have to say that I love the painterly feel of the middle one, so after some deliberating that gets my vote!

Chris So, first let me just say that I love all of these versions. Really, I do! I had so much fun processing this one and I’m not done. I didn’t get any negative feedback, so I’ll give my own. There is slight ghosting at the top of the tree in the foreground. I must have missed it in the de-ghosting step and I’m going to go back tonight and fix it. Can’t have that!

Since you guys picked your favorite, I’ll pick mine. I really, really like the textured one too! It just feels right to me.

Thanks for voting on it!

People who voted for the second one (Textured)
@Jim Nix – Jim, thanks for your comment. Means a lot that you visited and took the time!
@Viveca Koh – Thank you, Viveca! Sorry to make you have to work, but I trust it wasn’t TOO hard… and hopefully a little enjoyable!
@Chris Wray – Well, Chris, what can I say… maybe you’ll get my name right tomorrow? 😛 Just kidding. I, as always, appreciate your feedback.
@Abby Elliot – Another new commenter! Thank you so much for your comment, Abby. I love seeing new faces on here and yours is no exception!
@Toad Hollow Photography – Thanks, Toad. As usual, you are most kind with your comments. It’s always a pleasure to read them!
@John Sotiriou – John, appreciate you coming back and giving me your feedback. Just so you know, I lightened up yesterday’s B&W just a tad. Thanks for the honest critique!
@Heath O’Fee – Thanks, Heath. I’m glad you like the textured version. I was hesitant on it, but I really liked it too!

People who voted for the third one (B&W)
@Dave Wilson – First, thanks for commenting, Dave. I appreciate you stopping by. It does lend itself well to monochrome… there isn’t a lot of color in the photo to begin with, and I often think that if a photo is bland (I don’t quite think this on is all THAT bland) that it could look very striking as a B&W.
@Jim Denham – Jim, how did I know you were going to pick that one! 😛
@Jesse Pafundi – Thanks, Jesse. I agree, it does have a surreal feeling to it. Thanks for the comment.

Chris @Chris DeAngelis – You’re back! It’s good you have you back, Chris! Thanks for that. I REALLY like the texture on this image… I think it really fits.
